Release dates for the Vampire Chronicles:

1976: Interview with the Vampire is published. Louis, came to us a long time ago. He was the first one to bring his tortured soul to us and we love him for that and more. He has a touch of humanity that springs from within him. He is more human than immortal at times he appears to be very fragile. He truly is, our Beautiful one, our sorrowful one. Our human vampire.

1985: The Vampire Lestat is published. Ah, his own tale masterfully told. His life, his forced change into an immortal. All of it richly detailed, a truly captivating story, and perhaps because of this, this book printed and sold in stores everywhere, is the reason we all love Lestat so much.

1988: Queen of the Damned is published. Akasha, the primal fount, the mother of them all comes calling in this tale. To stop her all that remains of the immortals and some of the most ancient the rest of them will ever see must band together to stop the evil Queen from killing the male population and bringing about utter chaos. Maharet, one who knew the Queen in life gathers the tattered band of immortals to her and spins a fantastic tale of her own, which they invariably learn from.

1992: Tale of the Body Thief is published. Again our Brat is at the center of attention when a man approaches him with an incredible offer. He switches bodies with a vile man who never planned to bring it back. His trail of death is long and wide and it takes the effort of them all to stop this man before it is too late. Our lovely, wonderful David, goes through a fascinating transformation.

1995: Memnoch the Devil is published. I will admit I was never one for Christianity. This book is full of biblical implications. And Lestat, our devil our imp was front and center for every page. A couple of our beautiful ones seemed to have perished at the end of this book much to my dismay. Other than that if you have a religious background you may like this book a lot.

1998: Pandora is published. My favourite. This startling beauty enthralled me more so than she had before. Her silence, her mystery and her own torment over her lost Marius touched me. I feel for the both of them in their old sorrow over what had transpired before them. Pandora’s tale wasn’t all Marius. Her life in Rome, her worship of Isis , all of it colourful and inviting.

1998: Armand is published. One tale I looked forward to reading was that of our auburn haired youth. It wasn’t anything I expected but it did bring to life his background from Russia to the brothel in Italy. A Fantastic tale, one I will read time and again.

1999: Vittorio is published. A new tale of a breath-taking immortal is brought to us full force. Along with his tormented story he brings Ursula and Florian to light. Vittorio goes through many things as he tries to better understand the vampiric condition. He is very much like Louis in that respect.

2000: Merrick is published. Go back to New Orleans, and meet Merrick Mayfair, a true witch a seer. A Powerful woman who has captivated people world wide with her strength and wild ways. A welcome addition to the Vampire Chronicles.

2001: Blood and Gold is published. The tale of Marius is brought full force to us. His love lost, his own terrible anger drips off the pages as he tells Thorne, fledgling of Maharet, his story. He takes us back to Ancient Rome, when he was yet alive and then in death. Mael graces the pages of this book, as does his maker Avicus, a ‘God of the Grove’. As well as Bianca, from The Vampire Armand, Marius made this blonde beauty his child and they lived together for a long while, tending Those Who Must Be Kept.
