Name: Jesse Miriam Reeves

Age: 35

Maker: Maharet

Jesse Miriam Reeves was born blessed, she had been spontaneously aborted from hr mother’s womb due to a car crash, the paramedics found her of course and she was taken to the hospital. The nurses had no name for her they called her the sparrow. Maharet would arrive later and name her the sole survivor of the Reeves family in South Carolina. She was sent to live with Maria and Matthew Goodwin in New York. She grew up in a loving household, her needs were always met she even had a nanny. Long before, she was able to read letters would arrive for Jesse from Aunt Maharet.

Jesse went to Columbia University where she studied Ancient Languages; her loving Aunt had pushed her admission to the University through thus giving her a great opportunity to study with the best. When she was younger, she did travel when she had off time. She traveled the globe spending a lot of time with various branches of the Reeves family, from Russia to Greece. She was welcomed with open arms by all of them she adored and loved them.

When Jesse was younger, around sixteen or seventeen she became quite startled by the things she was seeing. Spirits would try to talk to her or look, right at her, which sent her into frenzy it scared her. She told this to close friends who seemed to mock her. Maria and Matthew did not really know what to do, so she wrote a letter to her Aunt detailing the things she had seen. The reply seemed to sooth Jesse because her Aunt did not tell her she was mad or that she was seeing things, she instead told Jesse about her heritage. That those relatives, female mainly, with her endowments. Red hair, green eyes and pale skin that these people were witches, as she was. In addition, that the spirits were silly creatures and for her not to worry about them, she listed a few things to help ease her mind.

The time came when Jesse would be invited to the Sonoma compound in California. She couldn’t wait the last time she had seen Aunt Maharet was when she attended Columbia and Maharet had shown up unannounced, but delighted to finally see Jesse as Jesse was to see her. That is where she first encounters Mael, the two millennia old Druid from The Vampire Lestat’s book. He was kind and warm to her as he picked her up from the airport, dressed in earthy tones a rawhide jacket. She was enamoured with him nearly straight away, even though something about him put her off slightly. She kept this to herself.

That summer was fast, long nights a lot of wine and great conversation. She would often spend time watching Maharet and Mael seemingly argue with each other in a soft language she did not know. They never really fought they just spoke passionately about a few things. Mael had fallen in love with the red haired beauty, and was frightened that either she might die by disease or accident the thought maddened him. Jesse of course was too wrapped up in everything to notice that of course.

She had drunk so much wine while she was there and it took a lot of doing on her part to remember the night on the balcony with Mael. His kisses made her head spin, his arms held her against him she loved this. Even though part of her mind knew, there was something wrong with him. She saw her mother, the ghost of Miriam came to her, and she had seen her. Mael jerked up asking where before Maharet knocked him off the balcony. She screamed and ran over to the railing looking down, watching him rise to his feet dusting himself off. He gave a smile and a low bow to Maharet who stood at the railing dipping her head in a slight nod. That night remained blurry to Jesse for a long time; actually, things about the whole visit seemed to vanish. Mael had gifted a very old looking Celtic bracelet, which she cherished and wore always.

Jesse finally settled in London, had an affair that went bad, and met David Talbot member of the Talamasca. He had seen an article in the newspaper where-in Jesse explained what she knew about ghosts and spirits to a reporter who was asking people randomly. He made contact and asked her to join him for lunch. He displayed his ability though only a small portion of what he could actually do and told Jesse that he wanted her to become a member of the order. She would have to start out at the bottom like they all did but she would be privy to things that no one outside the walls of the Motherhouse in London would know. As sceptical, as she was it first it melted away as she continued to talk to David. Shortly there-after she gave up her flat, wrote to her Aunt telling her that she was joining this Order, Maharet was happy for Jesse as always.

At first, her letters to her Aunt were frequent, but as the weeks, months and years passed, they went out less and less. She was very devoted to the Talamasca, her new family. She loved the Motherhouse and her studies, years later she would spent time detailing reincarnation experiences in places like India. Until the day David revealed to her the truth about Vampires, still very uncertain she took her new assignment and the rules tied to it to New Orleans. She would investigate Louis, Lestat and the child vampire Claudia.

She checked rechecked and verified that Lestat de Lioncourt still had property in the city. She matched signatures noting with grand flare how fluid it was this Lestat must have been something in life. Well according to his book, he was a member of the French aristocracy. She wired the Motherhouse for money to buy out the tenants that currently resided in the New Orleans flat where Louis, Lestat and Claudia lived for over thirty years. Again, word from the Motherhouse urged her to be careful and be out of the city an hour before sunset. With her steam cleaner in hand, she went into the flat and began to remove the plaster, to remove boards finding the burnt timbers detailed in Interview with the Vampire, the papers stuffed into the walls matched the date this happened to her astonishment.

She found Claudia’s mural and the secret door where in it contained a doll whose clothing was crumbling in her hands no matter how delicate her handling of the fragile doll was. Then a rosary and a diary. The tiny fluid script and entries tugged at Jesse’s heart, yes, they were real. The phone was ringing, she answered in fighting a terrible headache a soft voice spoke her name on the other end. It was then that she realized the phone was not connected. She gathered the fragile heirlooms in her hands tucked them in her bag and ran out of the flat, getting into her car then heading to the motel. She was taken to the hospital she terribly sick and needed medical care. She began to see things. A small golden haired ghost, who reminded of Claudia, she felt such menace from her it sent her into hysterics.

As soon as she was able, she left the Motherhouse when she learned that this creature was having a concert, she had to see him. She flew to California against orders, she went to the Sonoma compound a letter from Maharet was waiting for her. Telling her to stay away from Lestat, she loved Maharet but would go anyway. Head strong as always. She flew down the highway on her way to San Francisco to make the concert in time.

It took every bit of strength she had to make it to the stage and keep her place waiting for him to come on stage. The lights dimmed the frantic call of the audience then the face of the creature that fuelled her desire to see him for herself up-close. She made her way on stage and rushed towards him, he grabbed her and spun her around then stopped kissed her and said her name to her. She was reeling her mind was spinning. This body, his body and Maharet’s body the same. He was real. He released her as the strange hands came to pull her off and take her around back. She laughed and sunk down against a wall, licking his blood off her hands, it sent a sensation though her unlike anything she had ever known. That is when her life took a deadly turn.

An unnamed vampire glimpsed the name Talamasca from her mind; it sent the creature into a rage. He nearly broke her in half, but he only managed to break her neck. She felt as if she was dying and she probably was. She could not feel anything and barely heard them talking to her as someone called an ambulance she would be rushed again to the hospital. She was told that David and Aaron were in the car behind the ambulance following them.

She was taken from the hospital back to the Sonoma compound, her body was clean, stray hairs were removed. She began to think they were preparing her for a funeral. She was trapped in her body, when she moved anything it made her scream. Male urged her to lay still and not move. Then the hard, cool body of Maharet was near, stroking her cheek her hair. Holding her against her, she was drained of blood. A sweet, hot fluid flowed into her body. That night Jesse became a Vampire.

She witnessed the death of Akasha; she heard the tale of the twins. She understood these creatures, these beautiful beings who she loved. Mael was with her helping her because like all fledglings she was being taken away from them by the night and the world in it. She now spends her time with her maker, Aunt Maharet and her twin sister Mekare, studying the Great Family with unending fascination and energy.
